Sculpture Introduction:

Gold leaf gilding is a decorative technique for applying a very thin gold leaf to solid surfaces such as metal (most common), wood, porcelain, or stone.

Gold leaf, referred to as "gilding". It is an ancient skill and a gem of the traditional folk crafts of the Chinese nation. Our ancestors have cherished the awareness of gold more than 5,000 years ago and mastered the technique of attaching gold foil. By the Shang Dynasty more than 3,000 years ago, China's gold foil technology was mature and widely used in the decoration of the palace aristocrats or Buddha temples to express its grandeur or dignity. Normally we suggested to use 24K gold leaf in stead of low gold percentage which also with higher anti-oxidation.

This PHOENIX shape sculpture is an outdoor artwork made for Chinese artist, in stalled at Jilin, China at the year of 2013. It takes 5 months to design, fabrication, and 3 months for installation work. The whole pieces size is 20 meters high made of red copper plate with surface gold leaf which is featured by its unique luster. The interior structure we used steel Q345B with rust-proof painting to ensure its lifetime.

The completed gold leaf gilding PHOENIX looks really beautiful and glittering, the client is  is very satisfied with it.
