Sculpture Introduction:

Gold leaf Bronze Buddha Sculpture is sculpture which surface covered by 24K gold foil. Nowadays gold leaf gradually widely used on bronze sculpture surface treatment to meet specific requirements.

This Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Buddha Statue is a gold leaf Bronze Buddha statue made by copper. It consists of three parts, the Buddha, cane and canopy.Among them, the Buddha is fabricated by casting craft and the cane and canopy are finished by hand forging. All surface are covered by gold leaf.

In terms of Gold leaf surface treatment, roughly following below steps:

Step one, sanding: Use 2000 grit sandpaper to sand the construction area by hand, just sand the surface rough.

Step two, gluing: Clean the polished area, brush with gold foil glue, dilute with thinner water before brushing, and apply glue after reaching the concentration. After brushing, let it sit for a while and wait for the glue to dry (touch it with your fingers, It feels sticky, but the fingers are not polluted) before applying the gold foil.

Step three, gilding. Paste the gold foil with backing paper on the brushed area, and use a wool brush or cotton pad to gently press and remove the paper. After finishing the gold foiling process, use a soft cloth or cotton ball to compact and flatten the gap of the foil surface. If there is any leakage, it should be make up in time.

Step four, Sweeping on gold leaf, After the gold foil surface is compacted, use a soft wool brush to start sweeping the foil, and gently sweep the overlapped part in the foil direction to keep the foil surface smooth and bright.

Step five, Surface protection:

 (1. )After sweeping the gold foil 24 hours when the surface is completely dry, spray the gold foil protective oil with a thickness of> 20 microns.

 (2.) After the gold foil protective oil is sprayed and dried for 12 hours, spray a layer of protective varnish on the surface of the gold foil with a thickness of >40μm.

The two-step measures need to dust the surface before construction.

This finished Buddha statue which stand height is 4.5m from the bottom of the lotus to the top head.Let's expected its final installed statue.
