Dual curved stainless steel facade

Sculpture Introduction:

With the improvement of the craft level, metal sculptures are increasingly used in urban decoration. Stainless steel surface panels are also becoming more diverse, no longer limited to a single flat panel, for example single curved panel and dual curved panel.

This dual curved stainless steel facade is design by a design studio in stalled at Singapore international airport new Terminal 4, dual curved is the addition of curved curvature in different directions based on the original single curve. It's like cutting a piece from the surface of the circle, with more demanding in term of process.

The whole dual curved stainless facade undertakes 5 month for fabrication, which used 4-6mm thickness stainless steel made by hand forging. Because its thickness adds a lot of difficulty to hand forging, but to some extend, more thick more flatness the surface, so that the mirror polished finish can be presented better. Meanwhile, due to the limited space on-site, we spend almost 4 month to finish the installation, at least one and a half months more than expected. The completed whole stainless steel facade which size is 20.7 meters long and 15.2 meters wide made of 316L stainless steel with surface high mirror polished and interior structure we used Q345 carbon steel.

This project is difficult to make and more difficult to install. But through various studies and in-depth discussions, we have done very well.
