The Museum of the Future in Dubai covers an area of 30,000 square meters and consists of 10 main floors and a museum. The building is about 77 meters high and total of 7 floors. It costs 500 million dirhams, equivalent to about 900 million RMB, and is built on the urban elevated unmanned subway system on the edge of the financial district.
It is known as the most challenging construction project in history because the design structure is complex and parametric modeling is used. Its frame structure is composed of 2,400 diagonally intersecting steel members. There is no column internal. The facade is made up of 1024 pieces of Arabic calligraphy stainless steel panels printed by robots. The widest panel is 3 meters long and the highest is 9 meters, with dual-curved, each of which is a unique design.
From the overall look, its circular appearance + hollow tension resembles a red phoenix eye. The designer explained it this way: "Void" represents the "unknown" and those inventors who seek to explore the unknown, discover new horizons and ideas, and help guide humanity towards a better future.
Meanwhile, this design is also LEED Platinum certified, the first building in the Middle East to obtain this certification.
The Dubai Museum of the Future has been completed in 2020 and is scheduled to be opened in 2021.
